NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Section 63F-1-205 requires that the Chief Information Officer (CIO) establish by administrative rule, in accordance with Section 63F-1-206, standards under which an agency must obtain approval from the CIO before acquiring information technology (IT) items.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No comments were received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

The continuation of the rule is required by Section 63F-1-205 to establish standards for IT purchases. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
