NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION
Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:
Section 53A-13-102 directs the Utah State Board of Education to adopt rules providing for instruction on the harmful effects of controlled substances and Section 51-9-405 provides for funding from the Substance Abuse Prevention Account to be allocated to the Utah State Office of Education for substance abuse prevention and education.
Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:
No written comments have been received.
Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
This rule continues to be necessary because it provides for distribution of the Utah State Office of Education's share of the Substance Abuse Prevention Account. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
