Governor's Executive Order Creating the Interim State Council on Workforce Services.

EXECUTIVE ORDER

Whereas, the State Council on Workforce Services is created between March 1, 1997, and July 1, 1997, to develop a state workforce services plan to coordinate and ensure the delivery of services statewide through regional Employment Centers; and

Whereas, the State Job Training Coordinating Council is already in existence and recommends establishing its federal membership requirements within the State Council on Workforce Services; and

Whereas, there is a need for the State Council on Workforce Services' planning, guidelines development, and related input in the interim period prior to March 1, 1997;

Now, Therefore, I, Michael O. Leavitt, Governor of the State of Utah, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of this state, do hereby establish an Interim State Council on Workforce Services.

It Is Ordered that the Interim State Council on Workforce Services shall assume all responsibilities and privileges of the State Council on Workforce Services as designated by Statute in Section 35A-1-206 UCA until such time as the permanent State Council on Workforce Services is fully constituted and functioning.

It Is Further Ordered that the Interim State Council on Workforce Services shall also carry out the responsibilities of the State Job Training Coordinating Council until such time as the permanent State Council on Workforce Services is fully constituted and functioning.

It Is Further Ordered that any policy decisions made by the Interim State Council on Workforce Services be ratified by the permanent State Council on Workforce Services after that permanent Council is fully constituted and functioning.
