Governor's Proclamation Calling the Fifty-Second Legislature Into a Special Session.
Issued: June 12, 1997
WHEREAS, since the adjournment of the 1997 General Session of the Fifty-Second Legislature of the State of Utah, matters have arisen which require immediate legislative attention; and
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 6, of the Constitution of the State of Utah, provides that the Governor may, by proclamation, convene the Legislature into a Special Session;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL O. LEAVITT, Governor of the State of Utah, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Utah, do by this Proclamation call the Fifty-Second Legislature of the State of Utah into the First Special Session at the State Capitol at Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 18th day of June, 1997, at 4:00 p.m., for the following purposes:
1. To clarify the grounds for eviction of mobile home tenants.
2. To consider a concurrent resolution honoring the 1997 Utah JAZZ Basketball Team.
3. And, to consider such other measures as may be brought to the attention of the Legislature by supplemental communication from the Governor before or during the Special Session hereby called.
