Park rangers are given authority under Section 79-4-501 and may enforce rules for the protection of state parks and park property from misuse or damage and to preserve peace within state parks.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
This rule establishes proper and safe use of trails and walks within the park system. It protects park resources and visitors. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
