NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION
Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:
The purpose of this rule is to give the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food inspectors authority to conduct mandatory inspections and enforce the Egg Products Inspection Act in connection with the cooperative agreement with USDA, Food Safety and Inspection Service, and Egg Product Inspection under the authority of Section 4-4-2.
Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:
No comments supporting or opposing this rule have been received.
Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
The purpose of this rule is to provide egg product inspection at least equal to those imposed under the federal Egg Products Inspection Act (21 USC 1031-1056). Therefore, this rule should be continued.
