NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

The Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund has been created by statute (Section 35A-8-501 et seq.) to allocate and distribute funds to rehabilitate and develop housing for lower-income Utahns. Section 35A-8-504 specifically grants the executive director of the Department of Workforce Services the authority to make rules to establish procedures for grants and loans made by the Fund.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No comments have been received during the last five years.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

The rule is necessary to set standards ensuring that grants and loans made by the Fund are made in accordance with state law. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
