NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Section 54-4-1 provides the Public Service Commission (PSC) authority and jurisdiction to supervise and regulate every public utility in this state, and to do all things necessary that is just reasonable and in the public interest.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No comments were received in the last five years.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

This rule remains necessary to continue to monitor and regulate the direct or indirect advertising expenditures of regulated monopoly utility companies and to ensure they are in the public interest. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
