At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 2, the Senate amended S.B. 22, “Administrative Rules Reauthorization.” The amendment modified the bill so that “all [administrative] rules of the state are reauthorized.”

As indicated on February 10th, the introduced version of the bill proposed to not reauthorize the scope of practice section from DOPL’s Chiropractic Physician Practice Act Rules, and a portion of a property tax rule.

The Senate’s action on S.B. 22 occurred shortly after the House passed S.B. 249, “Defining Practice of Chiropractic Physician,” and the Senate passed H.B. 252, “Calculation of Property Tax Levies.” These bills addressed the issues identified with the two rules originally listed in the bill.

The bill, which was characterized as a “must pass” bill in the Senate, now moves to the House.
