This Week at Rules – March 31, 2021

Brody Mangum This Week at Rules

Hello, rule readers! This week at rules, we’ve made the Administrative Rules Updates page far easier to read.

Front Page Focus

This week, we’re taking a look at R156-22, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors Licensing Act Rule. R156-22 covers the education, experience, and examination requirements for licensure as an engineer or land surveyor. Our Front Page Focus also includes the current Administrative Code through eRules and the most recent Codification Segue.

Updates to the Updates

A few weeks ago, we shared the relaunch of the Utah Administrative Code Updates. These updates share changes made to the Utah Administrative Code in a specific month. For more information about the Administrative Code Updates, visit This Week at Rules – March 17, 2021.

We’ve made a few changes to the page to enhance usability and discovery. Firstly, the page’s formatting has been updated to match the rest of our site. While it looks similar, it should be far easier to navigate on different sized screens and devices. Codification errata, or notes regarding changes to monthly updates post-publishing, have been moved from their own section to the year in which they discuss.

Our most significant change was in the presentation of previous year updates. In the past, all years, from 1995 to now, were displayed in their entirety. We’ve added automatically resizing drop down menus for years past 2020. This should greatly reduce the length of the page. To view updates prior to 2020, simply find the desired year and select to reveal its contents.

Finally, the Updates page is a little more accessible with the addition of more links to it throughout our site, including one on our Publications page. Feel free to share our updated page on Facebook or Twitter and consider following us while you’re there for the newest administrative rules updates.
