Reauthorization of Administrative Rules

At its January 7, 2009, meeting, the Administrative Rules Review Committee approved its annual omnibus legislation to reauthorize administrative rules.  The bill is required by Subsection 63G-3-502(3). 2008 “Administrative Rules Reauthorization” Bill

The Administrative Rules Review Committee has approved its “Administrative Rules Reauthorization” bill. This bill is required by Section 63-46a-11.5. The bill reauthorizes all administrative rules except: Rule R722-300 — Concealed Firearm Permit Rule — from Public Safety, Law Enforcement and Technical Services, Criminal Identification; and Rule R525-6 — Prohibited Items and Devices — from Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental

S.B. 26, Rules Reauthorization, Passes Reauthorizing All Rules

On January 27, the House Rules Committee placed S.B. 26, “Administrative Rules Reauthorization” (Sen. H. Stephenson), on the third reading calendar. On February 1, the House passed S.B. 26. The bill now awaits enrollment and the Governor’s signature. The Reauthorization bill is the Administrative Rules Review Committee’s annual bill required by Section 63-46a-11.5. S.B. 26, as passed, reauthorize all rules.

Legislature Passes H.B. 37

The Utah Legislature passed H.B. 37, reauthorizing all administrative rules. The reauthorization bill is required by Section 63-46a-11.5. This year marks the first time since the statute went into effect that the bill has passed before the last week of the session.

H.B. 37 Moves to Senate; S.B. 101 Progresses to the House

H.B. 37, Administrative Rules Reauthorization, passed the House on Thursday, January 20. It will be discussed in Senate Government Operations committee on Tuesday, January 25, at 3:30 in room W020. Rulemaking Bills Approved for Filing

On January 5, 2005, the Administrative Rules Review Committee voted to file two bills as committee bills. Rep. Ure will sponsor “Administrative Rules Reauthorization” which is the committee’s annual bill to reauthorize administrative rules filed pursuant to Section 63-46a-11.5.
