Administrative Rules Reauthorization Bill Approved as Committee Bill

The Administrative Rules Review Committee met on 01/18/2011.  As one of the agenda items, committee members voted to approve the annual Administrative Rules Reauthorization bill.  This year, the language of the bill reauthorizes all administrative rules. Rules Review Agenda for 2011 — Rules Due for Five-Year Review

The Division of Administrative Rules has prepared a list of administrative rules due for review in 2011.  Section 63G-3-305 requires each agency to review its rules within five years of each rule’s original enactment, and then within five-year intervals (the anniversary date).  To comply with the review requirement, the agency must submit a “Five-Year Notice of Review and Statement of

McAdams Appointed to Serve on Administrative Rules Review Committee

Senator Benjamin M. McAdams (D, District 2) has been appointed to serve on the Legislature’s Administrative Rules Review Committee (ARRC).   McAdams takes the seat vacated by Sen. Brent Goodfellow. McAdams has served in the Legislature since December 2009.  In addition to serving on the ARRC, he also serves on the following committees:  Executive Appropriations Committee; Executive Offices and Criminal Justice

The Utah Administrative Code, the body of all effective rules as compiled and organized by the Division, is current through 01/01/2011.  The Division posted this update on its website on 01/10/2011. The Division’s goal is to codify and post rule filings made effective through the first of the month by the tenth of the month.

Laws of Utah Digitized

The Utah State Law Library reports that the Laws of Utah have been scanned and are now available online (http://pioneer.utah.gov/research/databases/utahlaws.html) through the Utah State Library’s Pioneer service (http://pioneer.utah.gov/).  The session laws, from 1851 through 2009, are available thanks to the efforts of the Utah State Library in cooperation with W.S. eRules Browser Requirement

The Department of Technology Services programmed eRules, the application agencies use to file rules with the Division, to a standard set of specifications. These specifications include operability with Internet Explorer 7 and higher, and Firefox 3 and higher. eRules was not programmed to work with, nor has it been tested with other web browsers.
